• 1 bar none would be Campaign finance, 100%.. then I could be sure no one is bought, ever again.

• 2 would be national ranked choice voting

• 3 would be SCOTUS reform that has a lottery for justices already appointed at appellate level to serve on SCOTUS for a time (2-5 years?), and then be pushed back down to the lower courts and have someone replace them.. that way no president can directly effect SCOTUS, and the judges can never become corrupted by having lifetime appointments there.

• 4 house reform. Have the house grow (or shrink) by population... There is already one on the books called the Congressional Apportionment Amendment that states can ratify to get this change done

• 5 would be an equal thing to #4, but for the senate.. have it grow at a flat amount for every state accounting for the total population of the country (maybe something like 1 new senator for every state, every new 500,000 people as an example).

• 6 is a small one, could probably be accomplished with legislation, but give the Marshalls entirely over to the courts to use as their own enforcement and protection mechanism.

Increase the size of the House by 4x and the Senate by at least 3x, with a rebalancing of the Senate so that the largest population states get an extra vote. Also adding DC as a state in the process because it's only fair they have votes in Congress.

While it would be counter to what the founding fathers had in mind for Congress, they had no idea whatsoever where new states would be added, where borders would be drawn, and just how disproportionate representation in the Senate based on land area would become.

This accomplishes several things:

* Makes politics much more local. There's a better chance your rep actually lives down the street from you.
* Sucks oxygen out of the room for reps and senators to become national stars wielding undue influence -- there simply wouldn't be enough primetime media to go around.
* Increases the likelihood a third party emerges.
* Shortens election cycles and reduces the influence of money in politics -- there simply wouldn't be enough lobbying money to go around and sustain the perpetual campaign cycles.
* In cases where votes are close to 50/50, the swing votes are more likely to be 1-2 dozen people making it harder to buy votes with pork.
* Makes it harder to gerrymander redistricting. All those odd-shaped districts that were spat out by some algorithm would be much harder to rationalize in court once districts become much smaller.

No *way* this ever gets ratified, but I think it's a singular amendment that could go very far in unfucking our democracy.

I think we need a voting rights amendment: the right of any citizen to vote shall not be abridged.

Also give Congress the ability to discipline states that keep people from voting.

I would also support a bodily autonomy amendment, and yes, right to abortion and right to refuse vaccines would both fall under this.

I would separate the DOJ from the executive branch and make it an elected position that is a 6 year term.  

Qualifications would be the attorney general must be a practicing attorney or judge that has practiced for at least 10 years.  

All federal law enforcement would fall under their control.  I would also make them responsible for bringing all impeachment proceedings and have a dedicated impeachment review board taking that power from Congress.

1. Anti gerrymandering. All voting districts will be drawn to represent the will of the people within. Boarders must be kept simple and geographical in nature that is reasonable and fair by it and neighboring populations. 

2. Ranked voting is required by all ballots for positions of public service with at minimum 5 per position with the winner being the primary holder of position and the runner up holding vice position of responsibility with veto powers. 

3. Everyone who can vote, votes.  All districts must ensure everyone within can and has voted before the official end of the voting cycle. Votes must be able to be verifiable by the individual who casted the vote but also remain secret. 

4. All legislation will be single issue only per bill, with a clear goal of the bill and who's going to monitor and check how it achieves its goal and reviewed. If multiple issues must be addressed in quick succession due to some form of emergency, the President of the group may act as dictator for a brief period of time then ejected from office to be reviewed for abuse of power. 

5. Representatives will be scored based on their voting history and how well those bills performed for their intended purpose. 

6. Revise the 2nd Amendment: Cities and States are allowed a well regulated militia with militia members being granted reasonable self defense privileges assigned by officers of the well regulated militia. Persons have a right to reasonable self defense arms and equipment to ensure the ability of first response and self defense of ones self and others.   

7. All public officials will be paid a high enough wage to require the use of private business income, personal income, lobbying or other methods to finance their effort. 

8. A 4th branch of government will be designed and created to specialize the management of finances and resources to represent banks and business interest. 

9. Any and all media with the intent to inform others shall be considered under oath and must present evidence of reasons for conclusions in an easily accessible manner that can be reviewed and addressed. Officers and servants are considered under oath during any official duty, informing others or general behavior. Opinions may be stated but must be a clear, fallacy free opinion following the above requirement of reasons and evidence that support the opinion or speculation. Any and all incorrect statements or wrong opinions or speculation must be revisited and updated to inform the public.

Amendment--SCOTUS Reform:

18 year terms.  Most senior justice is replaced every two years.  In the event of a death or resignation before 2 years is up, that counts for that period's replacement.  More than 1 death or resignation, the court just goes without until the next 2 yr term.  Every President gets 2 appointments per term.  The Senate *must* vote on all nominees and is only allowed to block 2.  If they block 2, they've got no say on the 3rd.

No more McConnell shenanigans, and there's no incentive to put teenagers on the court so they'll be there forever.

Expand SCOTUS, roster system, add term limits: 

- Expand the size of the Court to diversify opinions. To around 20 Justices.
- Justices are appointed to oversee cases at random. Each cause would have a bench of 5 justices. justices can drop out and be replaced. justices can be removed and replaced. The Court can function as a full court as well for certain cases, especially those involving the Constitution. 
- Term Limits: this would involve categorizing  justices and having each serve different term lengths. Justices of “Class 1” should serve for life, like the Chief Justice. Class 2 justices can serve for 20 years. Class 3 for 15. Class 4 for 10 etc. There would obviously be way more people being made justices, that’s okay. we can have more people sharing power and giving their opinion. Justices, especially of lower classes with shorter terms, should be appointed from an Appellate Court and be allowed to return if they wish (becoming a Justice Emeritus as well as Appellate Judge).  Those of higher classes should not be allowed to return to federal judicial service or any judicial services. They shall retire permanently. There will also be **no** term repeats. Doesn’t matter if they’re a Class 4 or a Class 2, they can’t serve a second time on the Court.

"President is not a king" amendment.

* Eliminate unilateral pardons.  
* Give a minority of the House (maybe 25%) "standing" to sue the president when they believe he is exceeding his powers/not obeying laws.  
* Give a minority of the House the power to investigate administration actions, including the power to subpoena. 
* Explicitly outlaw impoundments and transfers of funds.
* Limit the number of political appointees in the administration to 200 (instead of the current 4,000).   Guarantee some level of civil service protection. 
* Require that presidents place all their assets in a trust, invested in US Treasuries or indexed US stock funds.  Presidents may not have any income while president other than their US gov't salary (which I might increase).  Same rules for spouse.   Maybe some rules for children.  

(This wouldn't have been my first choice a couple years ago.  But, then we didn't have a president who looked like he could become a dictator.)

I agree with the person in this thread that said to put a rep in the House per every 200k people, but also codify a proportional representation system, i.e. get tf away from the two-party system. The # of reps in both chambers of Congress should be proportional to the party affiliation of voters. With greater diversity of thought that is directly proportional to what people actually align with will hopefully bring us back to the center and make it harder for the hostile takeover we're experiencing to be repeated.

Remove the 435 cap on the House of Reps.

Implement ranked choice voting for all federal positions. 

Combined primaries at all levels of government, both federal and state.
